Detroit Symphony Orchestra

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra is noted for its magnificent Orchestra Hall, its extensive discography of recordings, its wonderful relationship with so many outstanding music directors, and its first-in-the-country radio broadcasts. By all counts, the DSO is doing very well indeed, yet not only the city of Detroit but the entire state of Michigan seems to be in the throes of a depression that is leading the rest of the nation.
