Steve Danyew, composer and saxophonist, is currently pursuing a M.M. in Music Composition and Arts Leadership at the Eastman School of Music. Danyew is the recipient of numerous national and international awards, including the coveted BMI Student Composer Award, 1st prize in the 2008 Ithaca Choral Composition Competition, Winner of the 2009 Octarium Choral Prize, Winner of the 2009 Delaware Valley Chorale Award, Regional Winner in the 2008 SCI/ASCAP National Student Composers Competition, 2nd prize in the 2006 APSU National Young Composers Competition, and Finalist in the ASCAP Morton Gould Awards (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009). Danyew co-founded the non-profit chamber ensemble Project Copernicus, and serves as the group's Executive Director. He also previously served as Assistant Coordinator of Festival Miami, an annual international music festival held in Miami, FL. Steve holds a B.M. Music Theory & Composition cum laude, Pi Kappa Lambda from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. In addition, Danyew has served as a Composer Fellow at the Yale Summer Music School and as a Fellow at the Composers Conference in Wellesley, MA. Much of his music is published through his website,
