About the Polyphonic.org Articles
Welcome to the Polyphonic.org article catalog. One of the key features here at Polyphonic.org is the regular publication of original articles which touch on a variety of fundamental issues impacting professional orchestra musicians.
From the moment the idea of Polyphonic.org was formed, the importance of having professional orchestra musicians author the content was understood. Additionally, there was a strong desire to capitalize on the innovation of online publishing, allowing us to avoid the pitfalls of one-way communication experienced by traditional, static publications. Instead of simply disseminating information and opinions we have created an interactive environment where the readers can participate by submitting their own thoughts and observations to any of the articles using our “comments” feature.
Polyphonic.org is a home for many familiar and independent voices within the world of orchestral musicians, brought together to embody our mission: “to enhance the professional development and broaden the perspectives of musicians in North American symphony orchestras and other musical arts organizations” Polyphonic.org's ongoing article catalog will be one of many innovative tools we'll use to help fulfill that mission.
You can browse our catalog using the navigation bar to your right; articles are arranged by category, alphabetically by author, and chronologically by publication date.
If you are interested in submitting an article of your own, please visit our “Submissions” page for detailed instructions on how you can contribute to our article catalog. ![]()
